Willian gets THREE assists on impressive Arsenal debut – but it reminds fans of Gunners flop Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Willian and Arsenal have made a blistering start to the 2020/21 season as they breezed to victory over Premier League newcomers Fulham.
The Gunners won 3-0 thanks to goals from Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but they’re not the only players who impressed.
New signing Willian was arguably the pick of the bunch, as he provided THREE assists on his Arsenal debut.
While there wasn’t much intent behind the first assist, a rebound for Lacazette, there could be no doubting the second and third.
Another new signing, Gabriel, scored as he got on the end of Willian’s corner from the right.
The third was the pick of the bunch as Willian picked out Aubameyang with a long ball and the striker beautifully curled the ball past Marek Rodak.
So things are going swimmingly for Willian, who used to play for Arsenal’s London rivals, Chelsea.
However, perhaps Arsenal fans shouldn’t get too excited just yet.
Diehard Gooners will remember that Henrikh Mkhitaryan got three assists on his full debut for Arsenal.
In fact, the Armenian has already started trending among fans on Twitter.
The former Manchester United man was in great form as Arsenal tore Everton apart in February 2018, winning 5-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
Ominously, one of them was also for Aubameyang.
That was pretty much as good as it got for Mkhitaryan, who is trying to get a move away from Arsenal having spent last season on loan at Roma.
Will history repeat itself again?
