EPOS and Sennheiser's new high-end audio gear for gamers who won't compromise

With the demands of gaming peripherals becoming higher so has the demand for clean audio. Up step EPOS and Sennheiser to create a headset and sound card to help you take your audio to the next level.

Right away the two products are presented well and make for a nice unboxing experience. Both are very easy to set up and get running, the headset has one cable that plugs directly into the EPOS GSX 300 sound card and the other end into the headset itself.

The sound card plugs into any USB port on the back of your PC. This is a niche pro to the headset but the wired connection is very secure and can withstand movement and knocks during a long gaming session.

Packing some serious audio power

The EPOS GSP 601 is the comfiest headset my ears have had the pleasure of wearing. The wide band and thick padding on the head strap allows you to wear them for extended periods. The earcup padding is huge and allows the cups to sit on the side of your head instead of squeezing the headphones to your ears.

The large padding is not just for your comfort but it’s also there to cut out any ambient noise. Without anything playing it just reduces the small background noises that can become distracting, but when you are engaged in a game the padding enhances the immersion.

The headset is bulky in the hands and has a chunky look whilst wearing it, but it could not feel more different on the head. The comfort and fresh white design outweigh that bulky look and feel.

The EPOS | SENNHEISER GSP 601 or GSP 602 boast superior sound quality and are a fantastic addition to any gamers arsenal

The EPOS | SENNHEISER GSP 601 or GSP 602 boast superior sound quality and are a fantastic addition to any gamers arsenal

The sound from the EPOS GSP 601 is incredibly crisp and has no problem with any sound levels you throw at it. Whether you are listening to the latest music or editing a video, the EPOS GSP 601 will enhance the experience. Add in the EPOS GSX 300, switch on the 7.1 surround sound and you’ll get immersive feedback from games like Call of Duty Warzone, where you’ll hear the precise footstep locations of other players with pinpoint directional sounds.

Within the EPOS GSX 300 PC program, you can adjust the sound equalizer to different presets depending on your needs. There are 4 presets and you can customise them to create your own. It has built-in sound tests to give you instant feedback on the custom profile you just made.

The headset looks chunky but feels lightweight

With EPOS GSP 601 microphone, the mic itself does not do anything revolutionary as you flip it down to unmute and flip it back up to mute yourself. There is a small click to indicate each action but nothing visually changes. Whilst testing on work meetings and some voice recording, the out of the box settings are very clear even whilst there is heavy background noise.

Pairing the mic with the EPOS GSX 300 PC program allows you to hone in the settings to suit your needs. You can again adjust it with a few presets they have or you can play with the settings yourself to dial in that clear audio quality.

With the current world climate and the work from home culture, the EPOS GSX 300 and the EPOS GSP 601 gives me unwavering confidence knowing that my audio is going to be the best it can be on any work meeting, video production or gaming session, allowing me to focus and enjoy the stuff that matters.

The headset itself can be used across various platforms with the second cable they provide allowing you to plug and play with Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PS4.

Overall the EPOS GSP 601 headset is outstanding. The audio quality is second to none, paired with the comfort that allows me to game or work for 8-10 hours without noticing I am even wearing the headset. I was unsure about being tethered by a wired connection but the cables provided are long enough to give you the freedom to get up and stretch your legs. Along with the quick mute capabilities you can easily put them down safely knowing you are not annoying teammates with any background noise.

Pair the EPOS GSP 601 with the EPOS GSX 300 sound card and these are the winning combination for any gamer.
