WWE superstar Andrade reveals he wanted to fight Dominik Mysterio before Seth Rollins feud
Andrade has admitted he wanted to be Dominik Mysterio’s first opponent in WWE.
Dominik, son of legendary wrestler Rey, is set to take on Seth Rollins in his first WWE match at SummerSlam on August 23.
It is a big ask for the 23-year-old, who is looking for retribution after Rollins popped Rey’s eye out at Extreme Rules last month.
The storyline has been one of Raw’s best in recent months with the Monday Night Messiah and Murphy brutalising Dominik with multiple kendo stick shots in this week’s taping.
But Andrade, who beat Rey to win the United States Championship, his first main roster title, last December, is hoping to face Dominik in the future after missing out to Rollins.
He told Planeta Wrestling via Fightful: “Apart from the feud that we had, Rey Mysterio is a great person.
“Inside the ring, he’s a rival, but outside the ring, he’s a great guy.
“I would have loved to have faced Dominik in his WWE debut. I think in the future we can lock up [in the ring].”
Andrade offered his support to Dominik after he was attacked by Rollins and Murphy.
He tweeted: “I’m on your side @35_Dominik #TranquilaRaza.”
Dominik was first introduced to the WWE Universe when he was just eight years old as Rey and Eddie Guerrero fought for custody over him in 2005.
More recently, he was involved in a storyline between his father and Brock Lesnar last year.
Dominik hit Lesnar with a 619, before frog splashing The Beast at Survivor Series.
