We now know that Mike Tyson will step back into the ring against Roy Jones Jr on November 28.

The comeback we all got excited for when we saw Iron Mike looking explosive in his training videos has materialised, but the first stop he made on his return route was in professional wrestling.

AEW brought Tyson in to present the TNT title to its inaugural winner at Double or Nothing and in true Tyson fashion, he would get into some action the following Wednesday on Dynamite.

It’s been teased that he will reignite his feud with Chris Jericho that saw the former undisputed heavyweight champion drop the first-ever AEW champion on RAW a decade ago.

Making an appearance on AEW’s Unrestricted podcast, Jericho’s Inner Circle stablemate Sammy Guevara revealed what the original plans were for Tyson in AEW.

“The original plan was for Mike Tyson to knock me out which I was all for. I remember people were coming up to me and saying, just don’t move, you’ll be fine,” Guevara explained.

“I wasn’t scared at all. I thought even if he hits me and I wake up in a hospital, it’s going to be a hell of a moment. What a story. Hey, Mike Tyson knocked me out. Who can say that?

“I don’t know who really wants to say that, but if I’m going to get knocked out, what a guy to get knocked out by. They ended up changing it.

“I remember being in the ring. There was him and Henry Cejudo and thinking this is wild. We did the Double or Nothing and now we are in the ring with Mike Tyson. This is nuts,” Guevara said.

Tyson hasn’t returned to AEW since and seems fully focused on his bout with Jones Jr, a bout that was originally scheduled for September 12 but due to Covid-19, has been delayed for two months.

There’s very little chance Tyson picks things up with AEW until this fight has come and gone, but Jericho has himself admitted that they could well have a wrestling match together.
