Jadon Sancho news: Manchester United target ‘considering transfer request’ amid frustration – but Borussia Dortmund insist he is happy to stay
At this point, Jadon Sancho’s future depends very much on who you ask.
Manchester United’s pursuit of the £108m-rated England international is no secret, but the outcome of this saga remains a mystery.
Borussia Dortmund will tell you there is no chance their 20-year-old sensation will leave the club this summer.
The Bundesliga giants set an August 10 deadline for United to meet their £108m asking price, which has now passed.
Michael Zorc, Dortmund’s sporting director, insists that is the end of the matter.
“We plan on having Jadon Sancho in our team this season, the decision is final. I think that answers all our questions,” he told reporters on Monday.
According to The Times, Zorc also insists Sancho accepts that decision and will now turn his focus to the upcoming Bundesliga season, having flown out to Switzerland with the rest of the squad for a training camp.
But that’s not what the newspapers are saying.
The Sun claims Sancho has been left feeling helpless and could be forced to hand in a transfer request in order to force his way out of Dortmund.
Sancho was reportedly optimistic of a deal being agreed last week and must now decide whether to take matters into his own hands.
While United have not given up hope on resurrecting a deal this summer, it is understood the Red Devils have also been left frustrated by Dortmund’s game-playing.
They still consider £108m to be outrageous in the current climate, while reports also suggest they are angry with Dortmund’s refusal to deal with them directly.
