Sam Allardyce says he was embarrassed by Dave Kitson’s PFA coup

Wasserman Media group executive Rob Jansen is leading the business venture and has insisted the group are ‘in the waiting room’ for a club to become available.

He said: “In this current crisis, the asking price of some clubs will be lowered.

“At the same time the internal struggles at these clubs will get bigger.”

Many clubs have been severely damaged financially by the unprecedented break in football – and the Premier League recently revealed a ‘Project Restart’ initiative to get professional football back up and running again.

Jansen also claimed that his group were close to completing a deal for an unnamed club in recent months but were ‘beaten by a foreign investor’.

Newcastle are on the verge of being bought by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, with the takeover being led by Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman; according to reports, the deal could be completed in the coming days.

And it is believed Bergkamp wants a key role at any potential suitor having been away from football since leaving a coaching job at Ajax in 2017.

Celtic legend Larsson is currently manager of Helsingborgs and former Liverpool forward Kuyt works in Feyenoord’s youth system.

Cocu is currently plying his trade as manager of Championship side Derby, while Koeman has been manager of the Netherlands national team since 2018.
