WWE's big plans for The Undertaker and his character following WrestleMania 36 success

At WrestleMania 36, the vast majority of fans thought we saw the best Undertaker in maybe eight years.

The Deadman, 55, had a ‘boneyard match’ with AJ Styles to close out night one of WrestleMania 36 and it turned out that meant it was a cinematic match.

Undertaker was back to his absolute, vintage best

The Phenom rode in on a motorcycle like the American Badass from 2000 to 2004 would have and he had a lot of the characteristics of that character during the battle with Styles and his O.C. buddies, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.

It seemed to breath new life into The Undertaker and according to WrestleVotes, any future plans with the legend are set to have his character in that mould.

All indications from three different sources I’ve spoke to believe that whenever we see The Undertaker next, it will indeed be this new ABA style Taker from “The Boneyard” match this past Saturday.

In November of this year, it’s set to be 30 years since ‘Taker debuted in the WWE and they will more than likely have a special match for him at the event.

But with the new WWE Network series ‘The Undertaker: The Last Ride’ coming soon, there at least seems to be some suggestion that Undertaker is on the home straight of his career.

The Undertaker had lost his way a little bit in recent years

The seven-time world champion may have one more WrestleMania match in him and former peer Booker T thinks given the new perspective on his character, it would be a waste if he didn’t.

“I think the Undertaker’s still got a little left in the tank, as well as if we did not see the Undertaker at next year’s WrestleMania, we’ll feel like we missed something. Like, ‘Man, this WrestleMania was different. Undertaker wasn’t here.’ I think that just like the Undertaker said when they did that profile on him, I think the Undertaker’s gonna be around as long as he can muster up the strength to walk to that ring.

“And I think that’s pretty much gonna sum it up right there. If he can do that, he’s gonna show up. Because sometimes, you know, this business man, it’s tricky. It’s different than any other animal. This drug is so powerful.

“I’m not saying that he can’t walk away from it or anything like that, but you know, when it’s all over with — you know, it’s over. It’s done. And like you just said there a second ago. Thirty years the Undertaker’s been walking that aisle. Thirty years is a lifetime for a lot of people, you know what I mean?

“So I say, if it’s something that he loves and it’s something that he can will himself to actually do? I say do it until you can’t do it no more.”
