Jurgen Klopp bemoaned Liverpool’s rare defensive errors as the table-topping Reds lost their first match of the season at Watford.
Two goals from Ismaila Sarr and a Troy Deeney strike ended the European champions’ 44-match unbeaten run in a brilliant victory for Nigel Pearson’s men.

Klopp bemoaned Liverpool’s defensive errors in Liverpool defeat to Watford
And Klopp was left frustrated that his side were unable to execute their game plan.
“It just wasn’t good enough” the German told talkSPORT. “It was not what we wanted to do and Watford did exactly what they wanted to do.
“In the first half our positioning was wrong in different moments and we were taking the risks at the wrong moments.
“We always knew that this is the most decisive part of the season and everybody is fighting for everything.
“People said our schedule playing against Norwich, West Ham and now Watford was an easy one but that’s disrespectful. But none of those teams give you any space – we were not good enough tonight and in the other games we did much better. That’s why we won them and didn’t win tonight.
Klopp also bemoaned his side’s defensive errors which have become such a rarity in recent weeks.
“For a run you have to defend at the highest level and we didn’t do that in the specific moments,” he added.
“For the first goal it was a throw in, bouncy ball and Troy [Deeney] brings it down and then we are one step behind.
“It’s easy to explain but it’s also easy to explain how many games we have won so we are not in a situation.
“We still feel exactly how you should when you lose a game and we don’t want to have that again.”
