UFC news: Paulo Costa posts cringey training video mocking Israel Adesanya – The Last Stylebender responds to the ‘f*****g piece of s***’

It’s fair to say Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa don’t like each other.

The pair are set to meet on September 26 in Abu Dhabi with Adesanya’s middleweight championship on the line at UFC 253.

Of course, the jabs and bad blood go back long before this date was set.

Adesanya has long maintained that Costa – one of the most physically defined middleweights in the division – has been using performance enhancing drugs to look that way.

Costa, of course, denies this and downplays Adesanya’s ability at every chance insisting he’s not even the best kickboxer he’s ever faced.

The latest jab came when Costa recorded an elaborate video inside his training camp where he actually had used an actor to impersonate Adesanya.

The video was called ‘Runnersanya’ in reference to the Nigerian-born champ’s evasive tactics during his successful title defence against Yoel Romero in his last fight.

The video featured Costa finally catching ‘The Last Stylebender’ and beating him down, presumably a preview of how Costa expects the fight to go at UFC 253.

During a media call this week, Adesanya said he wasn’t bothered about the video at all.

“He can make any kind of tapes that he wants to make. I’m just going to keep doing me, like I always have.

“I’m just enjoying poking the bear as he wallows away in his own f****ing piece of s***,” Adesanya said. “Let him do him, and I’m going to keep doing me. I’m not bothered.”

Adesanya is 19-0 in MMA and has started making believers out of fans in his past few fights.

Although the Romero fight was considered boring by most standards, Adesanya has taken tough fights and generally put on a show.

Despite being one of UFC’s most intriguing stars, the test of Costa – 13-0 – is a very real one. Both men defeated Romero in their last fight and the question is: whose zero is going to go?
