Times have changed, beauty standards are higher than ever and it’s hard to keep up, with people eating better, going to the gym and paying much more attention to the skin and hair than ever before.
There are just higher expectations for men and women to look their best. This high standard of grooming even extends below the belt with men now expected to pay much more attention to their downstairs grooming to avoid scaring off potential partners.
You may have seen the ads all over Youtube or during podcasts promising clean, glistening, presentable gonads and I was curious, and I have to admit a little sceptical at first.
Despite the hype, we put MANSCAPED to the test to see if it’s the real deal or a phoney.
I used to only use scissors and an old semi busted trimmer to tidy up my intimate areas. But now my testicles have seen the light.
When working down under it’s crucial to have the right tools for the job and using your beard trimmer isn’t going to cut it, not to mention that’s dangerous and unhygienic you filthy animal.
Speaking from personal experience it’s not only terrifying but painful if you nick or slice your old chap or two gentlemen.
The order came in a discreet cardboard box which is good for those who might be embarrassed or who want to surprise a loved one.
But once you open the box you are greeted with a very handsome sight. The packaging looks classy and premium, the black and gold looks good and eye-catching.
I couldn’t help but appreciate the humour of the design with a large gold text saying “Your Balls Will Thank You” printed inside the box.
My balls and I were amused but doubtful of this cockiness, intrigued we prepared ourselves for a new and possibly frightening experience.
The lawnmower 3.0 is matte black and measures 146 x 38 x 32mm and weighs in at 115g. It is well-balanced, with a good weight in the hand and feels solid and easy to grip, due to the ridged sides and front, which is important when placing whirling blades near your scrotum.

I was very nervous to be putting whizzing blades of a new product against my nether region, but I decided to trust in MANSCAPED and let the balls fall where they may.
The first thing I noticed and really appreciated is the small but bright LED light at the front of the unit which makes it so much easier to trim where the sun doesn’t shine.
The Lawnmower 3.0 glided effortlessly around my body’s natural curves and loose skin and with no nasty cuts snags or even slowdowns, tidying up unwanted hair became effortless.
I was utterly impressed that the Lawnmower 3.0 worked so well. The sensation of the shorter more maintained man bush took a little getting used to but felt great and met with approval from my partner.
Next was the “Crop Preserver” ball deodorant. I was also slightly apprehensive about this product too, I was worried it might smell too strong, or sting my beanbag, but the fragrant ball deodorant and body wash combined wipes also really do help to make you feel clean, comfortable and confident.
Then I encased my freshly trimmed down below in the soft, stylish boxers supplied and I felt like a king.
The shaver features replaceable ceramic blades that utilise MANSCAPED’s SkinSafe™ Technology. Designed to mow through thick hair without pulling and using specialised compact blades. The 7000 RPM motor glides through the thicker hair, with minimal vibration which helps keep your hands steady.

MANSCAPED recommends replacing the blade every three months to stop them from getting dull and preventing accidents while also being more hygienic, which brings me to the monthly subscription cost.
The Lawn Mower retails for £99.99 as a stand-alone item or £89.99 to include the hygiene plan which costs an additional £14.99 every three months and includes Razor blade refills.
I was surprised The Lawn Mower only came included with one razor, even with the Perfect Package which seemed a little stingy.
Monthly plan only includes additional razors and not more disposable ball wipes, Ball deodorant or disposable shaving mats which is a tad disappointing, as a few other extras or even samples of some of the other products would make it feel more like a much better deal and get more men to try the other products.
The Lawn Mower 3.0 is IPX7 rated water-resistant protected against immersion in up to one meter of water for 30 minutes which means you can use it in the shower, making it even easier clean up.
The Razor uses a Lithium-ion battery which takes 90 mins to charge and lasts about 90mins. It also conveniently charges via a dock to USB, unlike my toothbrush and regular beard trimmer, which is convenient, ensuring it’s always ready to go.
It’s important to note this is NOT a trimmer for your face and has been specifically designed for pubic and body hair, also do you really want it all over your face after using it on your marbles?
Verdict
The Lawn Mower 3.0 despite all the hype turned me into a ball-iever, it’s one of the best things you can do for your personal grooming and should be in every mans arsenal.
It was very easy to use and maintain, I was surprised by how quickly I became enamoured with the fresh feeling and smell of the ball deodorant and toner on my newly trimmed area..
When combined with the other MANASCAPED products like The Perfect Package gives the discerning gentleman all the tools he needs to maintain and enhance his package, you will look and feel clean and comfortable and ready to go out into the world and grab it by the balls.
