Philippe Coutinho: Super agent Kia Joorabchian dismisses Arsenal transfer rumours – ‘We haven’t spoken about it, he could stay at Barcelona’

Philippe Coutinho’s agent has dismissed links to Arsenal and suggests the Barcelona playmaker could stay at the Nou Camp this summer.

The former Liverpool star has spent this season on loan at Bayern Munich and the Bundesliga champions have opted not to exercise their option to buy.

Coutinho, 28, will head back to the Nou Camp once Bayern’s Champions League campaign ends, but reports claim he remains unwanted by the LaLiga giants.

Catalan Sport recently reported that Coutinho has agreed personal terms with Arsenal to join them on loan next season, but Joorabchian insists nothing has been decided yet.

“After the Champions League is finished, and whatever happens, then we’ll sit down,” the agent told talkSPORT.

“It could be that Barcelona is the ultimate destination.

“He loves the Premier League, but the finances and the numbers and the situation of COVID are going to play a big part.

“He’s a big player with big numbers.”

Joorabchian also represents Willian and while refusing to confirm that Brazilian is signing for Arsenal, he told talkSPORT his future will be announced soon.

The 32-year-old is a free agent after confirming his departure from Chelsea last week in an open letter to Blues fans.

He has been widely linked with a move to London rivals Arsenal, where he has reportedly completed a medical and agreed a three-year contract.

Asked about Willian’s next club, the agent said: “He is a free player.

“He had a fantastic seven years at Chelsea, he’s been under various managers, he’s won multiple trophies and he has a fantastic relationship with Frank [Lampard], he respected him a lot.

“But I think that cycle had come to a moment where it’s a good moment to leave.

“At the moment, just for now I cant say where he’s going to go, for sure Arsenal are one of the contenders.

“But it wont be long before we announce it.

“We know where he’s going, so it wont be long.”
