Google Maps has a sneaky hidden feature over Loch Ness - here's how to find it

The Loch Ness monster is one of the most mysterious mythical creatures in history, with hundreds of supposed sightings over the years.

Now, Google Maps users can see Nessie for themselves – or at least a cartoon of the monster.

Google Maps has a sneaky hidden Easter Egg over Loch Ness, that features an adorable cartoon of the monster wearing a tartan hat.

The sneaky feature has been available on Google Maps since 2015, but remains widely unknown amongst Google Maps users.

Here’s how you can see the Loch Ness Monster cartoon on Google Maps yourself.

Google Maps users can see Nessie for themselves

How to see the cartoon Loch Ness Monster

  1. Open Google Maps on your computer

  2. Notice how the Street View cartoon icon in the bottom right corner is a small man

  3. Search for Loch Ness

  4. The Street View cartoon will transform into the Loch Ness monster!

  5. Drag this cartoon to different sections of the map to explore it from a Street View level

This isn’t the only Easter Egg hidden within Google Maps.

If you search for Buckingham Palace you’ll see the Street View cartoon icon change to a cartoon queen!

And if you search for the notorious Area 51 in Nevada, the cartoon icon will even transform into a UFO.
