It’s fair to say that when WWE have had to get creative during the coronavirus pandemic, they have done so.

The cinematic matches they have put together so far have hit all the right notes with the vast majority of fans and at Money in the Bank, they did it again.

WWE chose to run the majority of the show live from the Performance Center in Florida, but the actual Money in the Bank ladder matches took place at WWE’s HQ, Titan Towers, in Stamford, Connecticut.

The premise of the match called for superstars to fight their way to the top of the towers and make it to the ring on the roof where they would then compete in the actual Money in the Bank ladder match.

Along the way, WWE did a great job of making the match entertaining with cameos from WWE names like Stephanie McMahon and Paul Heyman on top of legends like Doink the Clown and Brother Love.

One moment fans particularly seemed to love was Vince McMahon’s inclusion in the match.

Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles fought so hard that before long they found themselves in the WWE Chairman’s office, and Vince was home.

McMahon making a point of cleaning his hands was a good touch.

Things have been tough for the boss in recent months with his XFL project going under for a second time, WWE’s loss of live events and his decision to release around 20 superstars last month.

However, these creative match-ups have been a bright spot for the company and many would say Money in the Bank delivered again.

On the night, Otis and Asuka were the two superstars to win the men’s and women’s briefcases, respectively.

Elsewhere on the card, there were no new champions crowned, but plenty of good performances.

Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins tore the house down for the WWE title where McIntyre had to dig very deep to get past the four-time world champion.

Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt also had an emotional encounter over the Universal title that smartly played up to their past from when Strowman was a member of Wyatt’s Family.
