While WWE is certainly pre-determined and scripted, the risks they take inside the ring are very real.
On Monday night, we saw that yet again in full force.
Injuries are par for the course given what the performers put themselves through on a nightly basis, but most are very avoidable.
Nia Jax is someone who has had a few incidents during her WWE run that has led many fans to calling her unsafe.
Chief among them was when she broke Becky Lynch’s nose prior to Survivor Series, cancelling her bout with Ronda Rousey.
While that worked out well for Lynch, the punch itself was reckless.
This past Monday night on RAW, Jax was taking on Kairi Sane in a rematch from their Money in the Bank qualifier that Jax won the previous week.
During the match, Jax attempted to hit Sane with a buckle-bomb, akin to the move Seth Rollins does on his opponents.
instead of having Sane’s back hit the top turnbuckle and land on her feet, Jax threw Sane down and she hit her head on the bottom turnbuckle.
As videos of the incident started circulating, it appeared as though the Japanese superstar said “I’m not set!” before Jax released her.
However, several Japanese fans have said she’s actually saying ‘hanase!’ which is essentially a rude way for saying ‘let me go’.
That would be more in-keeping with Sane’s character as her and Asuka frequently speak their native tongue on TV and she would have wanted to get out of Jax’s grasp.
Fans have felt that Jax should have taken more care of Sane and more than that, this is only around a week removed from Jax telling a story where she had to go to WWE management to protect Alexa Bliss from another unsafe worker.
It’s believed Jax was talking about Rousey in that instance, but either way, she can’t afford many more incidents like this doing the rounds.
