James Milner responds to Liverpool teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain dancing with girlfriend by rationing tea bags in Twitter video

James Milner has responded to his Liverpool teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s self-isolation video by rationing tea bags.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was filmed dancing with Little Mix star Perrie Edwards, his girlfriend, on Instagram making the most of their time at home due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a short clip, the pair danced to Maggie Lindemann’s Pretty Girl, while making their way up some stairs.

Oxlade-Chamberlain seems to have learned a thing or two from Edwards, who is part of one of the world’s biggest girl bands.

And his moves have not gone unnoticed by Milner.

In a video which shows the 34-year-old rationing tea bags on Twitter, he wrote: “Hey @Alex_OxChambo Barrels of laughs here in the Milner household as well  – rationing the tea bags for the week. #crazydays #somuchtogetonwith #notgotthemovestocompete.”

Milner often plays up to his ‘boring’ tag which has been placed on him since the popular Twitter account ‘Boring James Milner’ was created in July 2013.

The tweets usually consist of Milner making tea, ironing or having lifeless text conversations with his teammates.

And the former Leeds midfielder appears to see the funny side of the account, which has more than 650,000 followers.

Last year, he told iNews: “It never bothered me. I was at Manchester City in one pre-season and it was Vinny Kompany who first said, ‘Have you seen this?’

“Because of some of the things that were said, we wondered if it was somebody we knew.

“Micah [Richards] messaged him or her because he was always trying to get to the bottom of it.

“Some of the things are quite funny. You’ve got to laugh at yourself. A lot of people refer to it, I get plenty of ‘boring!’ shouts when I’m warming up, it’s just funny.

“There were a lot of opinions about me being boring because they didn’t know too much about me. I think it’s important you split your public and private lives.

“You have that side with your family that is just for you, but also through social media I’ve given people a bit more about myself.

“The Yorkshire accent probably doesn’t help in terms of the boring thing, either.”
