Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey in the summer.
The 26-year-old is thought to be high up on Mikel Arteta’s wish list once the transfer window reopens.
The Telegraph report that the Gunners have shown interest in the Ghana international.
Atletico are said to be braced for bids due to his relatively low £45million buy-out clause.
Partey starred for the LaLiga club as they knocked Liverpool out of the Champions League this week.
Arteta reportedly believes the midfielder could make an instant impact at the Gunners as he looks to rebuild the team.
He took over from Unai Emery in December and has his work cut out to turn the team back into serious title challengers.
Arsenal had a relatively quiet January transfer window where they signed defenders Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares.
Arteta is understood to be prioritising a box-to-box midfielder, central defender and creative midfielder in the summer.
Partey could be the first piece of the puzzle for the Gunners as part of their rebuild.
He has made 161 total appearances for Atletico Madrid since breaking into the first team in 2015. Before that he had loan spells at Mallorca and Almeria.
