Apple Mac keyboard optical illusion leaves users baffled - see if you can see it

They’re some of the most popular laptops around the world, and now Apple Mac users have spotted a strange optical illusion on the keyboard.

The illusion was flagged on Reddit this week, and now we can’t unseen it.

Reddit user DontShowMyFriends posted a photo of the keyboard, writing: “This laptop I just got has an optical illusion.”

The illusion is known as the Hermann Grid Illusion, and fools the eyes into perceiving grey circles between the keys.

SharpBrains explained: “While there are really only black blocks and white spaces in the grid, the high contrast black and white areas fool the eyes into perceiving a gray circle at each intersection.

“The illusion results from retinal cells adjusting the brightness of an image by adjusting the intensity of the light signal in many small sections, which allows you to see a wide range of both bright and dark details in the same image–unlike a computer monitor or TV screen that has one brightness setting for the entire image.”

Several baffled Reddit users replied to DontShowMyFriends, with many complaining they can’t unsee it now.
