Most of us have a stronger relationship with Netflix than we do with our closest family and friends.
It’s stood by our side through some amazing highs and many desperate lows, never judging, and always knowing the right thing to do.
It often knows how we’re going to be feeling before we do as that thoughtful algorithm robot remembers our likes and dislikes through hours of quality time spent together.
But it hasn’t always been like that. Like any friendship (and it is), there’s always that first awkward meet before you realise you both share the same weird sense of humour.
You can now go back and re-live those awkward early days after the people at Netflix revealed a simple trick to show your very first choices on the streaming service.

Taking to Twitter, they said: “Find out what the first thing you *ever* watched on Netflix was in 4 easy steps.
1) Log in on desktop
2) Click ‘account’ in the dropdown list
3) Scroll down to ‘viewing activity’
4) Either scroll down your list forever or just hit ‘download all'”
Thousands of people rushed to their computers to find out for themselves – and many quickly regretted it.
One replied to say: “I watched Love Actually quickly followed by Titanic so I don’t think I was okay.”
Another wrote: “What a wild New Year’s Eve in 2014,” followed by a screenshot showing evidence of 15 episodes of Peep Show and nine episodes of The Inbetweeners binged on the countdown to 2015.
One even reminded everyone of a huge throwback by commenting: “Can you also tell me what was the first DVD I rented when you guys were still mailing DVDs ? And yes, I’m old.”
Yep. Once upon a time you had to wait for the postman to bring you one part of a series, and then you would have to send it back before you could get the next one.
And if you want to learn more about the beginnings of streaming services, you can ask your parents about Blockbuster.
