Callum Hudson-Odoi: Bayern Munich reopen talks to sign Chelsea winger on season-long loan deal ahead of transfer deadline day

Bayern Munich are attempting to force through a season-long loan deal for Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi before Monday night’s 11pm deadline.

The two sides remain locked in talks over a potential deal, with the Bundesliga giants desperate to land the England international – who remains under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2024.

Bayern have a long-standing interest in Hudson-Odoi and have attempted to sign him in three of the last four transfer windows.

The proposed offer would also include an obligation to buy the winger on a permanent deal next summer.

Hudson-Odoi has made four appearances in all competitions for Chelsea this term, and played the full 90 minutes of the Blues’ Carabao Cup defeat at Tottenham earlier this week.

He also scored Chelsea’s second goal as Frank Lampard’s men fought back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 with West Brom on September 26.

The big-money arrivals of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz has meant competitions for attacking places in Lampard’s starting XI is fierce, so Hudson-Odoi will be allowed to leave if a deal can be agreed with Bayern.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are also reportedly considering a last-minute hijack of Arsenal’s move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.

The Gunners are desperate to sign either Partey or Lyon’s Houssem Aouar before Monday’s deadline.

The Guardian claim that Partey could join the Blues if they fail to land Declan Rice from London rivals West Ham, while the Telegraph adds Chelsea have been monitoring the Atleti star for months.
