The 2020/21 season got underway last weekend with the Community Shield and now the Premier League will be back in just two weeks.
The 2019/20 season was like nothing before with the impacts of the COVID-19 lockdown extending it by several weeks.
The campaign reached it’s dramatic conclusion on the last day before Arsenal beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final to end the domestic season.
The Champions League final was held on August 23 as the season finally came to an end but the new campaign is just around the corner.
The new Premier League season is set to kick-off on September 12, 2020

Premier League 2020/21 season dates
The 29th season of the Premier League is set to kick-off on September 12, 2020, it was confirmed at a shareholders’ meeting on July 24.
The campaign was initially scheduled to start on August 8 but was forced to be delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The final day of the new season will take place on May 23, 2021.
It will be the second campaign to have a mid-season break in February which will again see a gameweek split across two weekends.
Liverpool will go into the season as defending champions and will be joined by Leeds United, West Brom and Fulham following their promotion from the Championship.
A league statement read: “Premier League Shareholders [have] agreed to start the 2020/21 Premier League season on 12 September 2020. The final match round of the campaign will take place on 23 May 2021.
“The Premier League will continue to consult The FA and EFL regarding the scheduling of all domestic competitions.”

What about the Community Shield?
FA Cup winners Arsenal beat Premier League champions Liverpool in the 2020 Community Shield on Saturday, August 29.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring at Wembley with a fine goal before Liverpool substitute Takumi Minamino equalised after the break.
The game went to penalties with Arsenal prevailing 5-4 after Rhian Brewster hit the crossbar with his spot kick.
The match has been immediately followed by an international break from September 2 to 10 with England facing Iceland and Denmark in the Nations League.

When is the 2020 summer transfer window?
The Premier League have confirmed an agreement on a 10-week summer transfer window which opened on July 27.
The window opened the day after the 2019/20 season finishes and will close again on October 5.
The Premier League said that following consultation with the English Football League, a domestic-only window will also be added from October 5 and close on October 16.
Transfers between Premier League clubs will not be able to occur during this period, but top-flight sides can trade with EFL clubs and loan or sign players permanently.
