But don’t go splashing the cash on your team just yet…
Budgets are important in football, if you’re spending a truckload on a forwards, like Chelsea have done this summer, you need to balance it out with bargains elsewhere – like Thiago Silva coming in on a free transfer.
The same goes for Dream Team fantasy football, if you’ve spent £7.5million on Raheem Sterling, you’re going to need a bargain somewhere else on the pitch.
Your defence is somewhere you can easily scrimp and save to allow yourself a gung-ho attack
And here at talkSPORT.com we’ve got eight brilliant bargains to help you win your mini-leagues.

Lucas Digne (Everton) – £3m
With seven assists last term and an average WhoScored rating of 7.16 it’s fairly easy to see why we’re picking the Frenchman as one of our more expensive bargains.
His set-piece ability gives him great upside and after smart midfield signings at Goodison Park he might get more than the nine clean sheets he managed in the Premier League last term.
Joe Gomez (Liverpool) – £3m
With Dejan Lovren sold, it appears the Reds are putting their faith in the likes of Sepp van den Berg and Ki-Jana Hoever.
This does, though, mean Gomez and Joel Matip are now set to battle it out for the role as Van Dijk’s partner in crime.
It’s one to watch but if Gomez is the main starter then he’s a lovely little bargain.
Ben Chilwell (Chelsea) – £3m
The left-back’s attacking style is unlikely to be hampered when he does rock up at Stamford Bridge after recovering from injury and so an improvement on the three goals and assists with Leicester last season isn’t out of the question.
With the Blues bringing in Thiago Silva and a whole host of attackers he could also see an increase in clean sheets, up from the 10 he got last term.
Enda Stevens (Sheffield United) – £2.5m
Getting four assists and two goals from left-back in a newly-promoted side is great going.
The Irishman is unlikely to want to coast from here though, his performances on the flank were excellent and he will be key for the Blades again in 2020/21.
Hector Bellerin (Arsenal) – £2.5m
The Gunners have brought Cedric Soares in but reluctance to sell Ainsley Maitland-Niles to Wolves suggests Bellerin could be moved on.
Until then, though, he’s a real bargain for your Dream Team.
His bursting run in the FA Cup final, leading Arsenal’s second goal, showed exactly the progressive dribbling he can bring when fully fit.
If he can regain his form of old then there is no reason why we can’t expect his total of goals and assists to hit his usual five, or possibly even more.
The improved Arsenal centre-backs are what also make him great value and should see them get more clean sheets.
Ryan Bertrand (Southampton) – £2m
The campaign ended well enough for the ex-Chelsea left-back and he’s got himself a new deal with the Saints but he underperformed his expected goals and assists last term.
Rather than ditch him as an option, we’d say Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side are the perfect vehicle to help him get out of that funk and start succeeding again.
He was involved in 62 shot creating actions (one of the last two offensive actions before a shot) last season and registered 1.7 expected goals and 3.6 expected assists.
A haul like that will do nicely for your Dream Team.
Eric Dier (Tottenham) – £2m
This has a slight risk to it given his injury and fitness issues in recent campaigns but towards the end of last season he was starring in the Spurs backline.
Jose Mourinho is getting a tune out of the Englishman at centre-back and is set to pip Davinson Sanchez to the role of Toby Alderweireld’s partner.
He’s good value for goals and assists but more likely the former now he’s back in defence, he’s an aerial threat at set-pieces.
Tariq Lamptey (Brighton) – £1.5m
Snapped up on the cheap from Chelsea, the young right-back looks a bright prospect for the Seagulls.
If Ben White does stay then Graham Potter is going to have a sturdy backline which should allow Lamptey to get forward and create.
