Manchester United ‘best placed’ to complete Sergio Reguilon signing in £27m summer transfer
Manchester United are preparing to swoop for Sergio Reguilon with the Spain left-back set to leave Real Madrid this summer.
According to COPE, the Red Devils are ‘best placed’ to sign the defender before October’s transfer deadline, with previous reports suggesting a £27million offer has been lined up.
Man United will then pay Reguilon around £4.5m-a-year in wages, with his future seemingly set for English football.
Reguilon earned rave reviews last season as he spent the campaign on loan at Sevilla and, although they want to re-sign him this summer, Man United can offer far better financial terms which should see them win the transfer battle.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been on the lookout for a new left-back this transfer window, with Porto’s Alex Telles also emerging as a target.
Luke Shaw is Man United’s current first-choice left-sided defender, with youngster Brandon Williams also impressing last season and last month signing a new contract at Old Trafford.
LATEST FOOTBALL NEWS
The Red Devils have so far signed only a single player this summer, adding Donny van de Beek from Ajax in a £40m deal.
However, other reports claim Solskjaer still wants three more signings – including Jadon Sancho.
Man United have been chasing the England forward all summer, but have so far been unable to agree a deal with Borussia Dortmund as they hold firm on their £108m asking price.
