Danny Murphy criticises ‘sanitised’ Tottenham ‘All or Nothing’ documentary and insists Liverpool players would never have allowed it

Danny Murphy has told talkSPORT he wouldn’t have allowed a documentary series like All or Nothing to be filmed at one of his clubs during his playing days.

The latest segment of the Amazon Prime Video series has delved into Tottenham’s whirlwind 2019/20 campaign, in which the high-profile sacking of Mauricio Pochettino sees Jose Mourinho take over the reins.

But the most gripping part of the nine-part series so far is Mourinho’s bust-up with defender Danny Rose.

The outspoken left-back requested a meeting with his manager to discuss his lack of playing time after he was left out of the squad for the goalless draw at Watford in January.

The exchange ended with Rose storming out of Mourinho’s office and telling the former Manchester United boss he would be speaking with chairman Daniel Levy to clarify the situation.

The 30-year-old eventually sealed a loan move to Newcastle where he spent the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign.

Discussing the topic on the inaugural White and Jordan show, the ex-Liverpool, Fulham and Spurs midfielder Murphy said he was baffled that the players agreed to the TV show being filmed.

“I’m telling you now at Liverpool we wouldn’t have allowed that as players – I don’t care if the manager’s ego wants it,” he declared. “We wouldn’t be having that.

“I wouldn’t have allowed it at Fulham, either. I’d have given my armband in and said ‘not for me’.

“As a group of players you have a right to reply, so if you want to film me working you need permission.

“It’s a load of rubbish anyway. If you’ve watched the majority of it you’ll know it’s so sanitised – they know the cameras are there.”

Addressing the Rose and Mourinho saga, Murphy added: “I don’t think you should be having that conversation with a camera there.”

The final three episodes, 7 to 9, will be available to view from Monday September 14.
