UFC news: Darren Till and Robert Whittaker agree to bulk up on ‘chips and dip’ before August fight
Robert Whittaker and Darren Till appear close to reaching an agreement of fighting at a catchweight of 195lbs after gorging themselves with chips and dip.
Liverpudlian Till has become something of a cult hero amongst the MMA community with his social media antics since lockdown was officially enforced last month.
Although it is unclear if his fight with former UFC middleweight champion Whittaker will still go ahead, the duo have been engaged in hilarious banter.
The Australian was due to meet Till in Dublin on August 15, but the coronavirus pandemic has seemingly ended that prospect.
However, once the situation has been resolved, ‘The Reaper’ wants the pair to continue to snack and just turn up and fight.
“I really want to come sort of an agreement with Darren because I feel like he gets it,” Whittaker said to ESPN.
“That we just don’t train at all, we just don’t train, we do a catchweight at like ’95 and just rock up.
“Bro, I love that. I’m sure he would love that too. We just dip and chips it up until August and get in there and light it up. He gets it.”
“It’s not even a thought… YES,” Till responded.
“Now that we aren’t cutting weight rob? @robwhittakermma. Shall we just use the fight week time to our advantage, drink? Dip? And Game? Might as well…,” he added.
