Paulo Dybala: Juventus forward tests positive for coronavirus for FOURTH time in six weeks

Juventus forward Paulo Dybala has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus FOUR weeks after first being confirmed to have contracted COVID-19.

The ongoing pandemic has wreaked havoc across the globe with nearly 220,000 deaths, with Italy the second-worst affected European country after Spain.

Dybala, the Argentina attacker, confirmed on March 21 that both he and his girlfriend, Oriana Sabatini, had tested positive for coronavirus.

He was one of the first Serie A players to contract the disease, along with Juventus teammates Daniele Rugani and Blaise Matuidi.

Both players fully recovered from COVID-19 earlier this month, but, according to reports, Dybala continues to receive positive tests.

El Chiringuito claim the 26-year-old has undergone four tests in a month-and-a-half with the latest one still coming up as positive for coronavirus.

Give COVID-19 the red card

The quicker we work together to stop coronavirus spreading, the sooner we can get back into the pubs, the gyms and stadiums and arenas to see live sport again…

STAY AT HOME. Only leave for the following purposes:

  • to shop for basic essentials – only when you really need to

  • to do one form of exercise a day – such as a run, walk or cycle, alone or with other people you live with

  • for any medical need – for example, to visit a pharmacy or deliver essential supplies to a vulnerable person

  • to travel to and from work – but only where this is absolutely necessary

Everyone should do what they can to stop coronavirus spreading.

While there is no confirmation as to when these tests took place, the reports have emerged shortly after Italian clubs were told they can return to training next month.

Italian prime minister Giuseppe Conte announced last week that athletes can begin to train by themselves on May 4, with teams then allowed to start working together 14 days later.

He did not, however, confirm a return date for Serie A, which was suspended on March 9 with Dybala’s Juve leading Lazio by one point at the top of the table.
