Leicester will reportedly attempt to sign Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney this summer should Chelsea be successful in prising Ben Chilwell away from the King Power Stadium.

The Blues have been strongly linked with a move for Chilwell in recent months as Frank Lampard seeks to add defensive reinforcements when the transfer window opens.

Marcos Alonso has been criticised for a lack of consistency this season, while Emerson Palmieri – despite impressing in small bursts – has largely failed to win over fans during his short stint at Stamford Bridge.

Chilwell, the England international, has been a standout Premier League full-back in recent seasons and has been identified as a top target for Chelsea.

The 23-year-old has made 118 appearances for the Foxes since displacing Christian Fuchs from the starting XI throughout the 2016/17 campaign.

Leicester are reluctant to let him go and are currently trying to tie him down to a new contract at the club, but it is believed if the right offer is made they will allow him to leave.

And, according to Bleacher Report, the Foxes will try and sign Arsenal left-back Tierney should they lose Chilwell to Chelsea.

Tierney moved to Arsenal for £25million last summer but a string of injuries have limited him to just five Premier League appearances this season.

It is believed the Gunners are keen to keep Tierney at the club as the Scot has barely had a chance to prove his worth, having impressed so highly at Parkhead before joining Arsenal.
