Watford are considering leaving Vicarage Road for a brand new stadium over the coming years, reports claim.
The Hornets have resided at their 22,220-capacity ground for almost 100 years – and it was revealed last October that they were looking at ways of further expanding following several recent redevelopments.

However, The Atheltic reports that Populous, the designers responsible for Tottenham’s stunning £1billion arena which opened last year, have also been exploring the possibility of a brand new stadium, which would likely hold up to 30,000 people.
Images have emerged to show plans for the venue, which have been drawn up over the past 18 months.
According to these images, the stadium would be situated to the east of Watford in Bushey, half a mile further from Watford Junction Station than Vicarage Road.

But it is thought Watford will make no official comment until the club’s Premier League status is confirmed.
The Hornets, who rely heavily on top-flight revenue for financial stability, are currently locked in a relegation battle.
Despite the stunning 3-0 victory over Liverpool last Saturday, only goal difference is keeping Watford out the bottom three with ten games left to play, and they could be sucked back in if Aston Villa win their game in hand.
Relegation would almost certainly affect any plans for a new stadium, given the money that would be involved.
