Tyron Woodley will be in action against Leon Edwards
UFC 248: What have they said?
Leon Edwards: “I believe he was forced into it, I think he knows the risk of the fight. He knows after I beat him he will have nowhere to go.
“He was campaigning for a world title fight rematch but I think he was basically told, ‘you have no choice, fight Leon in London. Or you get moved down the rankings.’ I feel he was forced into it and now he is f****d.
“I’m prepared for the best Woodley there has ever been. We’ve seen him in his prime, on his way up. And that’s what I’m preparing for. I don’t care what he brings to the cage, I’ll be the better man that night.”
Tyron Woodley: “Leon says a lot of stuff. He needs to focus on how he is going to get back to the drawing board after he loses and what is going to be the next fight to get him back in the mix.
“All the other s***, I’ve been guilty in the past of looking too far down the road. How are you going to talk about a title shot when you are about to face the greatest welterweight of all time? He needs to re-shift his focus because he is about to get hurt.
“I don’t plan on doing it quick, I want to put a beating on him to the point where people are thinking ‘Why is he even in the octagon?.’ Dana White, you’re going to be ashamed of yourself for doing this.”
