Man City are pushing ahead with their attempts to tie Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling down to new contracts. Odion Ighalo wants to join Manchester United permanently and will accept a £6million pay cut to do so. Ighalo has impressed since joining the Red Devils on loan in January, netting four goals already, and his deal at Old Trafford could be extended beyond the end of the current season. United chiefs are unwilling to match the £240,000-a-week salary he is paid by Shanghai Shenhua, but Ighalo has no problem being paid less just so he can become a permanent Manchester Untied player. The Champions League and Europa League could be decided by a ‘final four’ knockout tournament hosted in a single city. European football’s governing body will hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday to discuss the future of both competitions, as well as Euro 2020.
