The 2020/21 Premier League season will get under way on Saturday, August 8, it has been confirmed.
The current campaign kicked-off on Friday, August 9 with Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Norwich at Anfield.
This season will finish on Sunday, May 17 and clubs now know how long they get off for the summer.
A statement read: “The starting date of the Premier League’s 2020/21 season has been confirmed.
“The 29th campaign of the competition will take place from Saturday 8 August 2020.
“Other key dates for the season will be announced in due course.”
The news means there will be just four weeks between Euro 2020 finishing and the new Premier League season starting.
The final for the showpiece summer tournament will be held at Wembley on July 12.
This summer will also see the 2020 Tokyo Olympics take place with the Games being held from Friday, July 24 to Sunday, August 9.
The gold medal match will be held in Yokohama on Saturday, August 8. It is unclear as of yet whether this will impact any Premier League clubs.
The 2020 Community Shield is also set for an early date with Sunday, August 2 looking likely.
