Manchester United and Chelsea will go head-to-head to bring Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho back to England this summer, according to reports.
The 19-year-old has developed into one of the most exciting young stars in Europe since leaving Manchester City for Germany in 2017, aged just 17, and he’s now one of the most in-form players on the planet.
In 83 games for the Bundesliga side, Sancho has scored 29 goals and provided 39 assists.
And the England international is currently in the form of his life – he has 11 goals and eight assists in his past 11 matches in all competitions – recently becoming the first ever teenager to reach 25 goals in the German top flight.
It’s no surprise, then, that some of the Premier League’s top clubs are queuing up to sign him, and even less of a surprise than Dortmund have reportedly slapped a £100million price tag on the teen.
According to The Sun, Manchester United and Chelsea are set to battle it out to bring Sancho back to his homeland in the summer.
Both United and Chelsea were linked with an interest in Sancho in January, but neither could get a deal done.
But they are expected to return for the English wonderkid when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season, with Blues boss Frank Lampard likely to be given extra funds after the west London club’s dry January, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to continue his overhaul at Old Trafford with a focus on homegrown players.
However, they will also face competition from Manchester City, who have the option to match any offer and also negotiated a 20 per cent sell-on clause when they sold Sancho to Germany.
The Sun also claim, though, that City’s buy-back option will only affect bids from English teams, and not if other overseas clubs come in for the coveted youngster.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has also offered no assurances the Englishman will stay at the German club beyond the summer.
While the club chief revealed BVB received no offers for their star throughout January, and insisted he is ‘comfortable’ at the Westfalenstadion, he admitted there are no guarantees over his future.
“[I can’t] reliably answer today [if Sancho will stay at Dortmund beyond the summer],” he told Bild.
