Frank Lampard reveals Chelsea will announce signing of Edouard Mendy in next 24 hours
Edouard Mendy will officially become a Chelsea player tomorrow, Frank Lampard has confirmed.
The Blues boss confirmed on Tuesday that the goalkeeper was having a medical ahead of a transfer from Rennes.
Lampard went a step further after his team thrashed Barnsley 6-0 in the Carabao Cup and said he would be revealed as a Chelsea player on Thursday.

Mendy will provide competition for Kepa Arrizabalaga but not necessarily a direct replacement.
The Spaniard’s performances have come under intense scrutiny and another error in Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool put him in the firing line.
Lampard has been lining up Mendy before that mistake by Kepa with reports circulating over the last couple of weeks that deals had been agreed.

This one has taken some time to get over the line but is nearing its conclusion – for a reported £20million.
Mendy would be their seventh major signing of the summer as Lampard has spent more than £200million overhauling the squad.
He is set to join Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Malang Sarr, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz on the glittering list of acquisitions.
